Description
The Epiphone Thunderbird E1, based on Gibson’s original “Reverse” body design, is a real head-turner! The Thunderbird shape is unique and interesting, yet universally recognised as one of the classic basses of the modern era.
Even the headstock looks like the mutt’s nuts compared to most bass guitars.
This model features two humbuckers with dedicated volume controls to ensure buzz-free playing in any environment, a universal tone control, black hardware and white scratchplate with the Thunderbird insignia.
In the 1960s, when the Thunderbird was first introduced, it must have looked like the bass of the future; and we think it has definitely stood the test of time! Whilst this won’t turn you into International Rescue, you will be the superhero of the stage!
No other bass looks like it or plays like it. The beloved Thunderbird bass from Epiphone features the “reverse” body styling, carved top and dual bass Humbuck pickups, set off with black hardware and Thunderbird insignia on the pickguard.
2 Epiphone humbucking pickups, 2 volume and 1 tone controls. Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, with dot inlays.
The Thunderbird-E1 now features mahogany body wings and a solid, bolt-on Hard maple neck for amazing sustain and tone. The Thunderbird’s SlimTaperGäó profile neck has a 34″ scale length and a rosewood fingerboard with a 12″ radius and 20 medium jumbo nickel/silver alloy frets. The nut width is 1.73″ for great string spacing and the body is finished in beautiful Vintage Sunburst.
The Thunderbird-IV features Epiphone’s new Thunderbird TB Plus humbucker which have proven to be one of the most versatile pickups for bassists on stage and in the studio. Epiphone hardware is the envy of the industry and the Thunderbird Pro features premium die-cast 17:1 bass machine heads, a 3 point full adjustable bridge, full function volume knobs and a master tone knob using full-size 500K O potentiometers, black hardware and a vintage style white pickguard with classic Thunderbird logo. You’ll get a ton of tone when you pick up the thunderous Epiphone Thunderbird IV!
