Epiphone 1959 ES-355 Inspired by Gibson Custom, Cherry Red Overview

The Epiphone 1959 ES-355 Inspired by Gibson Custom is a stunning recreation that brings the luxurious aura and exceptional quality of one of Gibson’s most revered models into the hands of today’s musicians. This model replicates the intricate details and sophisticated aesthetics of the original 1959 ES-355, featuring a 5-ply layered maple/poplar construction with a solid maple centre block for enhanced sustain and reduced feedback. The authentic ’50s Rounded Medium C profile neck and smooth ebony fretboard ensure comfortable playability and a warm, rich tone.

Equipped with hand-wired Gibson Custombuckers and premium wiring components, this guitar offers a sonically rich experience that faithfully reproduces the classic tones that have enchanted musicians for decades. Gold Grover Rotomatic tuners, a Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a historic reissue aluminium stop bar tailpiece provide modern reliability with vintage charm. The detailed mother-of-pearl inlays and gold hardware not only accentuate its visual appeal but also echo the grandeur of its inspiration.

Authentic vintage design

The Epiphone 1959 ES-355 Inspired by Gibson Custom meticulously replicates the original aesthetics of the 1959 model, which has been a symbol of sophistication and high-end craftsmanship. From the distinctive Gibson-style “open book” headstock adorned with mother-of-pearl inlays to the luxurious 7-ply top binding and 3-ply back binding, every aspect has been crafted to evoke the spirit of the vintage era. This guitar not only looks stunning but also serves as a bridge connecting modern players to the golden age of electric guitars.

Superior sound quality

Equipped with a pair of Gibson Custombucker pickups, the 1959 ES-355 delivers a sound that is both rich and versatile. These pickups, known for their authentic replication of vintage tones, provide a warm, deep sound with the ability to articulate nuanced musical expressions. Hand-wired with CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors, the guitar offers a responsive and dynamic tone control, making it suitable for a wide range of musical genres from jazz to rock.

Enhanced playability

The ’50s Rounded Medium C neck profile and the smooth ebony fretboard enhance the playability of the Epiphone 1959 ES-355, making it comfortable for both chordal strumming and intricate lead work. The 24.75-inch scale length is ideal for players looking for a slightly shorter reach between frets, which facilitates easier bending and faster playing. Additionally, the medium jumbo frets allow for clear note definition and easy action, accommodating various playing styles with ease.

Reliable and durable construction

The semi-hollow body of the Epiphone 1959 ES-355 is constructed with a 5-ply layered maple/poplar, providing a sturdy yet resonant frame that stands the test of time. The solid maple centre block is a crucial feature that enhances the guitar’s sustain while dramatically reducing the likelihood of feedback, making it highly reliable for live performances. The inclusion of high-quality hardware such as Grover Rotomatic tuners and a Gibson Historic Reissue aluminium stop bar tailpiece ensures the guitar remains in tune and performs consistently under various conditions.
