Description
Epiphone’s Inspired by Gibson Firebird™ rocks a reverse body and headstock design as originally introduced in 1963 and was Gibson’s first neck-through-body design. The traditional 9-ply mahogany/walnut neck-through-body provides rich, warm tonality and incredible sustain. A SlimTaper™ neck with a bound, Indian laurel fingerboard and acrylic trapezoid fingerboard inlays offers fast and effortless playability.
The newly refreshed Firebird is outfitted with a set of ProBucker™ FB720 pickups to recapture the scorching output and searing tones of the original voice for which the Firebird is known, and Grover® 18:1 ratio mini tuners. Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Original models feature a rolled neck for a comfortable feel, GraphTech® NuBone® nut, era-appropriate wiring, and CTS® pots. Optional hardshell is available.
• Comfortable SlimTaper C-profile neck
• 18:1 Grover mini machineheads
• ProBucker humbucking pickups
• PRO P-90 single-coil pickups
• LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge
SHOW-STOPPING LOOKS
Epiphone’s Firebird is a modern vision of what was once considered a truly ‘out-there’ design upon its release in the 60s. Designed by Ray Dietrich back in 1963, the first Firebirds quite literally flipped conventional concepts on their heads with the offset body shape and reversed headstocks.
It’s safe to say the Firebird would’ve turned heads when it was first released unto the world, and it is testament to this magnificent guitar, that it continues to do so to this day.
SLIMTAPER C-PROFILING
Epiphone’s Firebird model is an incredibly accurate envisioning of the original Gibson model, delivering all the swagger, but with a few added flourishes such as Grover mini machine heads.
Also featured is a wonderfully comfortable SlimTaper C-profiled neck and dual ProBucker humbuckers for much more power than those featured on the original.
